March 10, 2025, 26.1* Snowing
She woke breathless after running, calling gathering everyone inside, lips and mouth dry, heart beating wild little time to wonder how many heartbeats were assigned to her life. One tiger walked past the ramshackle cabin, the red storm door dangling from rusty hinges, lock broken she shoved her sister inside her own legs barely moving with a prayer she closed the inner door. Another tiger walked past showing no interest in the little cabin or its cache.
I’ve almost caught my breath after drying the three who came inside bearing snow; snow that falls gently concealing the pond, outlines the railing, dresses evergreen boughs. Oak trees with uplifted branches also receive the blessing of snow.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
