Morning to morning new; whether or not we are paying attention, whether or not we are looking, whether or not we are seeing. Leaves spread out to gather sun, to gather rain, to nourish the trunk, to shade the roots, the ultimate homeowner's association.
Day by day through the window or standing on the deck the canvas receives new strokes, new colors, new textures. Sparse, pinpoints of rain barely noticeable don’t add much to nature’s brew already cooled, or do they?
Anyone can love a rose, but
it takes a lot to love a leaf.
It’s ordinary to love the beautiful,
but it’s beautiful to love the ordinary.
