Light fluffy white compacted extracted by chenille rug fingers from feet of the three as I dry them in a bunched-up assembly line. Snow of inches still falling. Not snowman nor fort-making snow. Dry. Powdery great for skiing. Got rid of my skis before moving to Oklahoma. The previous owners of that house (in Norway Maine), the house atop a hill with hair pin curves, the hill kids walked down to catch the school bus when it snowed because the bus couldn’t make it to the top, those owners, before a snow storm parked their car at the bottom of the hill, skied down to their car in the morning to drive to work. I remember some wanting-to-close-my-eyes moments as I drove down that hill dark mornings on my way to work before the plow trucks spreading sand were up.
Snow kindles memories.
