Soft, cold rain soaked their coats as the three, in no hurry, performed morning rituals under gray skies in no hurry to provide more color, more light. Slush, not slippidy on deck. Sparse snow lies in grass, pond clear. Pair of black ducks here days ago, gone to other places, or nesting out of sight.
Stood at the window watching leaves move yesterday, discovered a gray bird, black head like a hood not just a patch of black, gray around eye, yellow beak, not a duck. Photographed through fence. AI could not distinguish bird from fence, could not identify.
Radar map displaying, purple, pink, green, blue, yellow, red. Purple swath moved past this location, all other colors coming toward us.
Some things dissolve before reaching us.
