Blue sky broken by sun, white not orange, not yellow. No one sings. No one speaks. Only the three move. Frost heavy. Green crystals left from yesterday melt shapes on the deck allowing feet to remain where placed.
Laced one shoe before realizing hadn’t put leggings on. I smile. Untie the double knot. Take shoe off. Put on leggings, shoes, dress, heated fleece. Coffee drips into a yellow cup. The three sleep.
This before that is one pattern of morning.
