Ruger looked up but did not move when I slid the door to a wet morning. Sun shining. Hot tub lopsided, looking as if something sat heavily on one side. Cover full of water, compressing. Didn’t know rain was expected. Last year, the insulated cover was waterproof.
I released the giants from their room. Zayne barked startled by the 4-wheeler on the trailer home from a Cary Township adventure. Zsolt came inside to find me. Merlin listened for 13 minutes. As I reviewed the list, I read “American Goldfish” my thoughts full of water.
Peaceful, shiny Maine morning…
