Zayne looked out the door, red truck, tractor on the trailer, gone. He sauntered down the ramp to explore dusty land. Blue sky. Sun. No orange, no odor of fire. Fresh breeze. One robin sang yesterday. Sounds like more than five voices this morning: Hermit Thrush, Brown Creeper, Red-breasted Nuthatch, White-breasted Nuthatch, Red-eyed Vireo. Lost my phone for a while yesterday, found Merlin on the railing listening apparently for hours, battery almost kaput. Before the screen darkened, I could read “Blue Bunting.” Would be interesting to know what other birds were on that list.

A list not saved is a list disappeared.
