Sky blue. Clouds white. A sprinkling of red leaves among the green. No breeze. Birds converse: Blue Jay, Downy Woodpecker, Red-eyed Vireo, Black-and-White Warbler, Brown Creeper, Eastern Wood Pewee, Tufted Titmouse. Spider string, one, from open green umbrella to wooden railing.
Yesterday, an Alfred Hitchcock scene, birds, unidentified species, white belly, black wings with one white vertical stripe on each wing, swarming yet making no sound as if marking a place for others to gather.
Sun traveling an August path. Grass too high to see the stream. A metal shelf consumed the best view from the laundry room window.
The three relaxed, sleep through subtle changes.
