It stopped raining just before 0500 our first foray outside in darkness. Not having time to absorb, pools of water lingered on the lawn. Rain blown against windows captured by tiny squares of screen. Dawn brings crickets, white sky. Puddles gone. Dust hidden for how long? Wind begins in the canopy. Yesterday, six geese single line formation flying East. A doe seen browsing in deep grass. Unidentified bird atop the fence.
Coffee cools. The three sleep. All is well in the hollow.
