Candles and flowers, glow as sky reveals pieces of trees. Blink must’ve been counting raindrops since 0200. Not human, not vehicle as programmed, the system tells me about raindrops and leaves. More trees appear as gray fills in behind them. Zayne in stealth mode runs about frequently looking towards me, not coming inside until he makes sure the coast is clear then a dash to his room his bed in the corner.

Toasted coconut tastes only of coffee in my red cup. A smiling yellow rubber duck has come to live on my desktop with shelf clips, batteries, gloves, measuring tape, drum mallets, drum music, matches. Matches? Diamond. Strike on the box matches. Oh. Now I remember...matches to light a candle.

Above the horizon, trees, branches fully defined, below still in darkness. If I were outside, not looking through a window and a window screen, the view would be clearer.

With light things are defined.
