At the top of the ramp Zsolt began barking. Zayne stopped. Ruger, did not mind that the tractor was parked next to the truck. Light comes sooner, not at 0400 while I look towards the dark ceiling or the digital alarm clock displaying over-sized numbers. An Eastern Phoebe was joined by a Hermit Thrush, an American Robin. Rooster, silent. Heavy frost. Shallow puddles, iced. Sun nudges horizon.
The clock of Friday has started.
