Gleepers sang at last call perhaps serenading the moon, perhaps grateful for more water in the pond. The chorus thinner. Did the moon hear? Does it make a difference? This morning, birds: Hermit Thrush, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo, Ovenbird, Black-and-white Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, American Goldfinch, Northern Yellow Warbler. There were other birds at 0520 but I forgot to have Merlin save the list.

White on the horizon before sunrise. Blue sky, no clouds. Something across the pond resembles a shaggy cartoon monster...brown standing out amidst the green around it. Sun marks a tree trunk with a yellow circle. Black paw prints as if inked onto the ramp will turn to dust later as Soleil reaches them.

The coffee dripped, three biscuits given. All is well.
