As I stood determining which foliage to capture with the camera, a doe came from the woods, began foraging. It is difficult to walk across rocks without making a sound. Before lifting the gate latch, I looked back. She was gone. Last night a moon, not a clear view through leaves.

Sky white. Fog falling. Dew. Spider strings swing like Tarzan’s ropes from Starlink’s flat face looking straight up, to the lower solar light facing the ground. Rain overnight, enough for raw wood to change color. Crickets. No traffic. No birds. No crowing rooster.

With stillness, things come into view.
