Through fog falling on our faces, noisy American Crows. A mass of spider strings: modern art atop a solar light. No sun. White sky. Fog fading. Birds. More birds than have been heard in weeks: Barred Owl, Blue Jay, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Black-capped Chickadee, Northern Cardinal, White-throated Sparrow. Giants run, joust, find edges of fenced-in-land, sit in the kitchen for a biscuit as coffee drips into a red cup.
The blessing this morning is hearing.
