Stars. Shapes of trees on gray barely there; clearer without desk light. No rain overnight. The three sleep again. Pale orange appears on horizon. Candles quiver on windowsills. Sky where once there were leaves. Stream an expanded mirror.

After the rain stopped yesterday, came upon Common Evening Primrose, yellow blossoms surrounded by leaves, acorn tops. Looked up to more branches bare. Chipmunk atop wood pile like a toy a child forgot. And now the wind begins again, a long gray cloud appears, like misty mountains in a painting.

Unlike a painting, the landscape is ever changing.
