Coffee steams too hot to drink. Cold air greets as I open insulated curtains. Sky silver, hint of orange at horizon across my window. Frost alters color. Ruger finds a place beside my chair. Dust has again made itself at home among the books. Yesterday I washed leaves of plants requiring neither food nor water. He brought home a Peace Lily in the spring; moved it to the deck when centipedes began climbing out. The giants sleep in their room. Sun brightens leaves. Sky shows a light tint of blue. Ruger dreams, bark muffled, paws running.
Without notice, one day passes into another.
