The crab apple tree he planted last night in the place he cleared of roots, of stumps, black dirt turned over and over is hard to photograph from the deck. It blends into background trees. Birds have sung their morning songs, some are talking. Rooster crows. Sky gray. Sun hidden by leaves. Air cool. Breeze blowing. Left the door open. Zsolt stands on the deck looking in. “I’m not coming out again. You can come in.” Puzzled puppy face disappears as the other two rush out to play with him.

The expression on a face says everything.
