Morning light shouts, awake, awake! No need for lights on in the house. A crow like the constant yap of a dog left inside, not happy about it. Sky blue, meagerly clouded. Zsolt looks from the other side of my desk where a bookcase should be, moved temporarily to get the step stool close enough to the wall to install curtain rods. Broke a drill bit in one designated hole. There cannot be cement, perhaps a knot in the stud.
Dew drenched the car, house siding. A spider dangled from the green umbrella as I raised it. Birds in conversation not speaking over one another: American Goldfinch, Common Yellowthroat, Downy Woodpecker, Blue-headed Vireo, Purple Finch, Brown Creeper, Red-eyed Vireo, White-breasted Nuthatch, Blue Jay, American Robin, Northern Flicker, Eastern Phoebe.
I was often told, “You can do anything you think you can.”
