Leaves rush like people to a train, many stop on the deck, nudge others on the grass. Only trees shout above the wind. No birds. No traffic. Red truck auto starts, sets the giants to barking. No heat escapes insulated coffee to warm my hands. Silver sky bright in places. Equipment stored for winter hides remnants of a secret wildflower garden. A bird flies through the canopy, moving too fast through leaves to distinguish.

Some things can be seen clearly. Some cannot.
